Netflix Show, “Schitt’s Creek” Sets an Emmy Record

“Schitt’s Creek,” a comedic Canadian TV show aired on Netflix, set an Emmy record for the first TV show to pull off a sweep, with nine Emmys total. This was a surprise since it was the most ever for a comedy in one year.

“It took seven honors including best comedy series, lead actor and actress for Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara, and supporting actor and best writing for Daniel Levy.” Brian Truitt wrote in the USA Today article, “Emmys 2020: ‘Succession’ wins best drama, ‘Schitt’s Creek’ sweeps comedy categories”
